Sun Poker have announced they are to change their platform networks from Cryptologic to Playtech’s iPoker Network.
They say the change is to help bring about an improvement in the quality of the tournaments they can offer and to increase the number of games available to players.
At the Sun Poker online website they say they will give more information about the change of network platform in December. Sun Poker users have been advised that they do not have to create new accounts on the iPoker network immediately, but have until the end of January next year to change accounts and can play on the Cryptologic platform until then.
There are some down sides to the move to the new platform as far as players are concerned. Current players will lose their My Player Points (MPP) in the move as these are not transferable.
Sun Poker will be launching a special promotion after the changeover however, which will be based around player points previously accumulated on the Cryptologic network.
Sun Poker have assured users that once the move is complete funds will be able to be transferred to iPoker and that all current funds will be safe.
This is the second bad piece of news for Cryptologic this week as it has also been announced that they have been dropped by World Poker Tour as platform providers and have been replaced by InterCasino.
